Is football really around the corner?

I know I'm in GA but it's still  95 degrees every blasted day.  All I know is my Fantasy Football league has started asking about who's IN and OUT this year and Tom Brady is back in the news.  I'm a football'aholic but it's still a little early for me.  Somehow by September 1st or 2nd I'll have a plan for a ridiculous draft for sure.

Much like my learned southern appreciation for the importance and the difference of really good BBQ.  I get much more excited about the upcoming college football season than I do the NFL.  In a month that will be rolling!  What will I cook for opening day?  Right now I'm thinking pulled pork but that's because it's been too long since I had my pulled pork.  Yeah, Saturday is always a cheatday too so I can eat pulled pork sandwiches and drink beer all day.

Wow, I think I've decided on what I want to make for opening  day.  Best way will be start the night before with a Chimney Cap in place if  there's any chance of rain.  I'll wake up to my butt somewhere in or past the plateau and I'll be rocking samaches by lunch.  Now I'm getting excited for football!

It's always a let down after "Cheat Day"

Tim Ferris' "Slow Carb" diet has been good to me for about a year and a half now.  I'm a pretty average guy in height but tended to carry a little extra weight.  The change allowed me to just make that little adjustment and drop from 220 to 190 and, most importantly, keep it there.
The diet allows for 1 day per week when you can just eat and drink anything.  I usually start the day with cookies and potato chips and just roll on through constant snacks of junk and into forbidden meals.  It's a lot of fun and it prepares me for another 6 days of the regimen.
The first day after Cheat Day is just such a let down.  It's hard to even eat anything.  I'll be fine by tomorrow but right now I'm just too bored with my options to eat a single thing.  Yesterday was grand.

Development is hard

I'm happy with the look of this new kamado application for our Chimney Cap.  The only problem is that it's a pain to put the cap on.  On every other platform, and that's 4 different manufacturers, it's as easy as popping your umbrella open.  Of course, it looks so good that you could leave it in place all the time.

I can always be reached at perfectbbqtek@gmail.com if you have any ideas.

July and August is just peppered with pop-up storms

The south east is just pounded by storms this time of year.  The north takes their share but I don't think I could have played a single season of little league with this kind of activity.  Good thing they can almost play all year in these parts.
